Our New Blog
Welcome to Carlsbad Art Farm’s new blog. I am your blog host, Perrin Weston, owner, founder, and very much hands-on director of Art Farm in north coastal San Diego County.
Carlsbad At Farm is a privately operated outdoor art instruction facility in north coastal San Diego County. Our mission is to inspire and encourage a deep connection to animals and the natural world through traditional studio art education. We are open to the public only for scheduled classes, workshops, field trips and other events. When we are not in session, our entry gate is closed and we are busy caring for all our many animals.
What’s This Blog About?
This blog will offer information about offerings and events at Art Farm, scenes from Art Farm, students art work, and everything else pertaining to the Wonderful World of Art Farm. I will also write about animal and wildlife art (my personal passion), animal conservation (with which wildlife art is closely aligned), and any other art/animal related topics that grab my interest. I hope you will subscribe and accompany me on my blog journey. I will also randomly post animal in art images, of which I’m an avid collector, because I think they’re very good and I want to share (see below).
2017 Award-Winning Summer Camps and More

In addition to the Art Farm Blog, we at Art Farm are VERY excited to launch our 2017 Summer Camp Season with a more interactive site. Explore our summer camp page for video of camp life, rates and dates, and much more information on our award-winning program (three-time winner of “Most Awesome Camp for Kids in SoCal).
But don’t stop there! We are expanding our academic school year program to include drawing, painting and printmaking classes for both children and adults. This will be the first time Art Farm has opened its resources to adults so we hope you will join us as we get those classes up and running in Fall 2017. For local schools, we offer one of the top field trip outing venues in the area. We will be posting more about field trip scheduling and opportunities this summer.
Connecting With Professional Instructors for Art Farm Workshops
We are also working on tapping into the enormous pool of professional art talent in Southern California for guest instructor workshops, particularly pertaining to animal and landscape art.
