Carlsbad Art Farm Welcomes Zovargo to Our Summer Camp Program

March 14, 2017 Leave a Comment

Carlsbad Art Farm’s mission is to inspire and encourage a deep connection to animals and the natural world through traditional studio art education.

We also believe in collaborating with like-minded local organizations, which is why we are pleased that San Diego-based Zovargo will be bringing their exotic animals and wildlife conservation message to our 2017 summer camp season.

Zovargo’s team of passionate educators also have a mission, which is to make a change in the world by fostering animal-human connections. Their award-winning interactive program introduces students to a variety of feathered, furry, slimy, and scaly animal ambassadors.

Each unique animal has a story and an important place in the Zovargo program. Nearly all the animals at Zovargo come from private donations or owner relinquishments. Some animals have also come from local domestic and wildlife rescues.

Zovargo CEO and Founder Amanda Plante has served as a devoted volunteer wildlife animal educator and rehabilitator for many years. In this position she helps the community learn how to coexist with wildlife and has rehabilitated hundred of birds of prey (raptors).

Amanda has also developed and managed an education/outreach program for a local wild parrot non-profit. Additionally, she is a Certified Interpretive Guide (CIG), has completed Conservation Education Training through the Association for Zoos and Aquariums, and has a certificate in Non-Profit Management from the University of San Diego.

Amanda has put together a team of educators with over 20 years experience in delivering programs to all ages. “Our values at Zovargo are the threads that hold us together as a team,” notes Amanda. “Connecting our hearts and minds; these principles are stitched through our individual lives helping us to empower and spread the word about conservation.” Visit here to learn more about the Zovargo team.

The Zovargo team and a weekly selection of their animal ambassadors are planning to be part of the Art Farm summer camp program each Thursday afternoon throughout our summer camp season. Please note that while we are planning on having Zovargo at all sessions this season, rates for our summer camps remain the same in the event that Zovargo needs to cancel.
